The information that matters for UPS equipment

Start with manufacturer and exact model. If kVA rating, voltage, phase or modular configuration is visible on the nameplate or documented in your asset list, include it. Do not infer electrical specifications from appearance.

Battery status can materially change how a UPS lot is handled. Note whether batteries are present, removed, recently replaced, aged or unknown. Do not open cabinets, disconnect battery strings or perform electrical work simply to collect quote information.

Installed equipment versus warehouse stock

A pallet of boxed rack UPS units is different from installed facility equipment. For warehouse stock, model, quantity, packaging and condition are usually enough to start. For installed systems, also note whether equipment is energized, disconnected, staged or already removed and whether a site deadline exists.

Brands already referenced by the site

The live site specifically references APC and Tripp Lite in its UPS and networking content. Other related commercial power equipment can still be submitted for review. Use exact brand and model rather than a generic “UPS” description.

Safe, accurate project descriptions

Do not assume removal, rigging, battery handling, freight or electrical work is included until those responsibilities are confirmed in writing for the specific transaction. For large installed systems, site access and safety constraints should be discussed before any schedule is assumed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy UPS systems with old or failed batteries?
They can still be submitted. State whether batteries are present and their known condition.
Yes. We review APC and Tripp Lite UPS equipment, subject to exact model, quantity, condition and current demand.
Installed systems can be discussed, but the project needs more detail than a warehouse pallet: model, electrical state, access, timing and scope.
No. Do not perform electrical work simply to collect quote information. Follow site procedures and qualified-person requirements.

Prepare your inventory

Four details make new old stock inventory easier to evaluate.

A useful first submission does not need to be perfect. Start with the information you already have, then add the details that help identify the equipment and the lot.

Exact model or part number

Use the manufacturer label or SKU whenever possible. Specific models are more useful than broad descriptions such as “switch,” “server” or “laptop.”

Quantity by model

List the count for each model or configuration. If exact counts are not ready, a reasonable pallet, carton or lot estimate can still help start the review.

Condition & packaging

Note whether the inventory is factory sealed, open-box, used, returned, untested or incomplete. Mention damaged cartons or missing accessories when known.

Location & representative photos

Include the city/state and a few clear photos of the lot, model labels and packaging. This helps the purchasing team understand scale and logistics.
